Our History

Didsbury Village Day Nursery was established in 1995 by Sheila and Richard Seed. After 17 years of experience teaching early years age groups in schools as a B.Ed. professional, Sheila was not satisfied with the quality of childcare available in the area and so set out to create this nursery, one with standards so high that she herself would be happy to leave her own child there. This concept is the underlying principle upon which the nursery will always remain.

Our established standards have been granted the highest possible Ofsted grade and the highest NDNA Quality Assurance level attainable, (Level 3), which is rarely reached. Genuine childcare of the highest quality has always been at our core, and word-of-mouth reputation has always ensured that over the years, not only has the nursery cared for many children from the local area, but also resulted in parents wanting to bring their children here from much further afield.

Nevertheless, despite our success, we have chosen to remain small over the years, rather than develop into a chain, to maintain the quality care and personal relationships that define us. Please read Our Philosophy for a deeper understanding of what is important to us as childcare providers.
