We are committed to quality in every aspect of our service. Accordingly, all of the food that we serve to the children is of the highest standards, locally sourced and organic wherever possible.
You are what you eat, and this is especially true for children. It is recommended that you eat at least 5 fruit and vegetables a day… our children get closer to 10!
All of the children at the nursery have a balanced and nutritious diet, with no expense spared. The nursery is primarily vegetarian with a variety of fish dishes also served. We source most of our food locally, from Unicorn (the organic wholefood cooperative in Chorlton), The Cheese Hamlet and Evans' fish shop in Didsbury Village, and the remainder coming from Sainsbury's and Tesco's. We endeavour to teach the children the importance of healthy eating and where their food comes from. They even help us to pick apples from our tree in the garden!
We also take great care to accommodate all allergies and dietary requirements and have very strict procedures in place to ensure that no cross-contamination occurs (we have scored 5 out of 5 in every food hygiene inspection to date). We also go to great lengths to ensure that the alternatives provided for children with allergies/requirements look and taste as similar as possible to what the other children are eating to ensure that no child feels left out.
