Your children will be in our care during their most important years of intellectual and physical development. This is a responsibility that we take very seriously.

At Didsbury Village Day Nursery, we harness the ‘Characteristics of Effective Learning’ to ensure that our care and education is tailored to each individual child. Children are only in a learning frame of mind when they are happy and confident in their surroundings, they also benefit most from the curriculum when they are engaged in their learning and their personal interests are taken into account by staff who know them well.​

The staff go to great lengths to ensure that all of the children feel settled and confident at all times as the importance of this cannot be undervalued. This includes very supportive transitions into the nursery, between nursery rooms and into school.

Understanding each child enables us to tailor exciting learning opportunities, empowering them to reach their full potential in every aspect of development. Their development is monitored closely by our highly qualified staff team through regular observations, leading to thorough ‘Learning Journeys’, which track each child’s progress in all areas in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

We supplement this curriculum with weekly visits from a variety of qualified and experienced extra-curricular teachers, specialising in different areas of Early Years development. All of these extra-curricular activities are included in the fees, as are the costs of all trips around the local area and nearby parks, as these are also invaluable opportunities to reinforce nursery work with first-hand experiences in the wider community. A wide variety of exciting trips further afield are also regularly arranged, we have recently been to Blackpool Zoo and Blue Planet Aquarium and we visit the pantomime every December!
